A Strong Commission Makes a Better City I served as Planning Commissioner in 2008 to 2009 and currently preside over Preservation Bloomfield as vice chairman. Last fall, the Michigan Society of Landscape Architects selected my company as Outstanding Firm of The Year. This leadership and business experience will serve the City well. My creativity and listening skills as an award winning landscape architect will help facilitate ideas and solutions, adding diversity of thought to the current administration. |
Natural Resources – The Magic of Our City Our community's physical characteristics stand out as a public treasure. My education and experience in woodlands, natural systems and sustainability will encourage better decision making through a multi-layered real-life background. |
Property Values The February 12th Sunday Edition of the Detroit Free Press highlighted a property value increase of 1.93% and 1.41% for Birmingham and Bloomfield Township respectively, while Bloomfield Hills dropped by 3.94%. I believe the City must do everything possible to keep our property values strong. Preservation of our natural resources, good roads and first rate services must be at the core of all decision making. |

Police and Fire Our community rightly demands first class public safety. With challenging legacy costs and tough contract negotiations ahead, my listening and business skills will facilitate higher morale by treating our PSO servants with respect and appreciation. |
Taxes We must keep our spending smart and in check to minimize tax increases. For example, the City should not be engaging two separate Planning Consultants, as it currently does, when one is sufficient. Overall, the City Commission should seek input from many sources when considering current and long range financial impacts. |
Vote for Michael J. Dul Please take an active role in making our City stronger. Vote for me by absentee ballot (available by request from City Hall) or in person on Tuesday, May 8, 2012. Please pass along your comments and feedback – I welcome your input.
Sincerely yours, |
